📝 Homework 1

  • Following are the seven goals of AI we studied in lesson 1:

  1. reasoning (making decisions)
  2. representing knowledge
  3. forward planning
  4. learning
  5. natural language processing (communication)
  6. perception (sensing an environment)
  7. move and manipulate objects

  • Your homework:
    • Choose either a video game or a smartphone that uses AI technology, using the seven goals above, explain:
      • how a minimum of three of those goals are achieved.
      • how did it improve the functionality of the game or the smartphone function.
  • Answers should be submitted as a text file or image for the Homework 1 badge on BourneToLearn.

📝 Homework 2

  • In week 2 of this unit on Bourne to Code we learnt that AI has difficulty with CAPTCHA deciphering. Using this web article as a starting point, conduct some research, explain how a CAPTCHA can be solved by a computer.
  • Upload your work to the Homework 2 task on BourneToLearn. If you have difficult in uploading or accessing to a computer, you can send your homework to your teacher by email, or print it out and hand it in, or show your teacher your hand written work.

📝 Homework 3

  • In week 4 of this unit on Bourne to Code we saw how an AI that was programmed to make paperclips as efficiently as possible could end up destroying humanity and the entire universe.
  • There is a simulation of this paperclip AI in which you take on the role of the AI and need to make as many Paperclips as possible, go to this link.
  • Play for as long as you wish, when you have done as much as you can you should screenshot the page and upload the screenshot to the Homework 3 task on BourneToLearn.
